Background
Teknos A/S is the Danish branch of the global Teknos Group with headquarter in Finland - a global company developing, manufacturing, and selling coating solutions, systems and products for the manufacturing industry, building professionals and other consumers. Teknos is represented in more than 20 countries and has sales and / or production facilities in a large number of them.
Teknos A/S, situated in Vamdrup near Kolding, is a full value chain company that handles production for both the Danish market and sister companies around the world.
Teknos is rolling out a new global strategy focussing on building a more customer centric approach in the whole organisation, and as a part of this the strategic development of the supply chain is highly prioritized. For the plant in Denmark this entails developing a higher level of flexibility, efficiency and adaptability in the supply chain organisation and processes. This both to secure the daily delivery reliability and product quality and to be able to meet the continuously changing demands and needs in the market.
A crucial aspect of the strategy rollout is to find a new Supply Chain Director to lead, run and develop the supply chain organisation in Denmark.
The Position
Reporting to the MD of Teknos A/S and with a dotted line to the Chief Supply Chain Officer of Teknos Group, you will have the overall responsibility for SCM in Denmark - including planning, purchase, manufacturing, logistics, technical department and quality.
You will form the management group together with the MD, Finance director, Commercial Director, R&D director and HR Manager. You will have a major impact on the strategy and development of Teknos A/S and play a key role in achieving the ambitious goals for the coming years.
You will be heading an organisation with close to 100 employees and have 4 managers in direct line: Production Manager, Purchase, Logistics & Planning Manager, Technical Service Manager and HSEQ Manager – each of them leading a number of mid-level managers.
The position entails both strategic dimensions and cross-organizational collaboration within Denmark and Teknos Group, necessitating close contact with group management in Finland and colleagues in other countries. You will also be a part of the Teknos Group Global Supply Chain Management team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Overall management and leadership of the Supply Chain Organisation in Teknos A/S including P/L responsibility.
- Securing a stable and high level of delivery reliability and product quality to support continued growth, customer satisfaction and profitability.
- Increase flexibility, adaptability and efficiency in the production and all supply chain processes.
- Improving systems, processes, and data utilization, such as implementing Kaizen, relevant IT tools, and enhancing purchasing and production planning processes.
- Engaged and attentive support to your line managers and facilitation of the communication and continuous coordination between them.
- Visible Leadership with focus on developing a working culture with strong customer orientation and a proactive improvement culture.
- Provide and execute long term development plan for the plant.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate has successful experience from a similar position in a matrix organization within the processing industry. You possess strong leadership skills, extensive experience, and insight into all aspects of supply chain and production management, along with a commercial approach and understanding. Your competencies encompass managing and developing complex production with a full value chain and strategic managerial experience.
To succeed in this position, you need to be a resilient and well-balanced person with good communication and coordination skills and focus on the importance of accurate and timely communication throughout the organization, both top-down, bottom-up and vertically.
You have a fact- and databased workstyle and experience from designing and implementing optimisation and development projects including using supportive IT and management tools.
As a motivating and engaging leader, you create an optimal framework for your team's success. You lead by example and genuinely value meeting your employees at eye level, listening to their views and inputs, and using this information constructively in your management.
As a person, you are goal- and resultsoriented with a strong ability to execute. You are motivated by goals and meet tasks and challenges with a solution-oriented mindset. Your pragmatic approach, combined with high mental capacity, allows you to handle complexity, pace, and pressure in a well-balanced manner.
You have a structured and focused work style, a good understanding of operating economy and ability to handle budgets, monthly reports, performance follow-ups, calculations, analyze data, etc. Fluent proficiency in both spoken and written English and Danish is required, along with strong IT skills.
We expect you to hold a Master degree or similar within supply chain, operations, production or engineering. The daily workplace is at the plant and head office in Vamdrup, so it is necessary for your residence to be within a reasonable driving distance.
